Mission Report – Introduction to the new Team

The old Stingers are no more and the Team under Captain Raif includes now TG, Link and Oner. They all had trained together for the last 6 weeks and TG now got a new Nickname: Troun since his speciality is close combat. Captain Raif gave him this new name which is Mandalorion for pitiless.  Link is the computer ace and Oner is the sniper of the team. Troun and Oner were trying their new jet-packs and reached the destination where they were suppose to meet up with Link and Captain Raif.

Link was already there and watched Troun and Oner enjoying their new toys.

Link: ‘Had fun on your flight?’

Oner: ‘Nice view from up there.’

Troun: ‘You really should give it a try, Link.’

Link: ‘Nah, I leave the toys to you guys.’

Then they heard a very distinctive noise…

The door of the LAAT opened and Captain Raif came out.

‘I’ve got a little present for you boys.’ he said. ‘It needs a little bit of work and new paint but I’m sure you guys can do it no time.’

Link, Troun and Oner were speechless.

Captain Raif: ‘Get in and give that baby a try. When we’re back at the base you can start modifying it. There are a few things I want you guys to install.’

So all three went on board. The doors closed and the Lartie took off back to the base where they spent the coming days working on it to the specifications of their Captain.

Soon they would be ready to fight!

Mission Report 75-006

Target: Meeting with the new Commanding Officer

Location: Top Secret

Link and TG met up with their new Commander on a planet somewhere in the Republic Sector. They didn’t know what to expect, so it came as a surprise as they discovered what their mission was this time.

Captain Raif: ‘Right boys, you two are part of the old special force ‘The Stingers’, right?’

Link & TG: ‘Yes, Sir.’

Captain Raif: ‘Well, The Stingers are no more, you two are now part of a new special force and I want to see if you are worthy to be part of it. So your task will be to catch me.’

TG and Link looked at each other, not sure what to make of it before they replied ‘Yes, Sir.’

Seconds after,  the Captain disappeared between the bushes and they couldn’t pick up any signal of him with their helmet sensors.

TG: ‘This is going to be tough.’

Link: ‘I heard some stories about Captain Raif. They say that he is a hard leader and can be your worst enemy but he always treats his troops fair and with respect.’

Soon TG and Link tracked the Captain down but they didn’t get the chance to get any closer. The weapons they used this time were just for training and would put you to sleep if hit at the right point.

TG: ‘We must try to get behind him. Let’s split up and see if we can get him between us.’

Captain Raif saw that his two new Troopers were trying a new strategy,  just as he had expected. With a grin on his face he left his location and lured them to a nearby lake.

Link took position on one side of the lake and TG was supposed to be on the opposite. That way they tried to get Captain Raif between them.

The Captain opened fire on Link and he quickly had to withdrew while TG still tried to find a spot where he had free sight of the Captain.
After a few seconds TG finally reached a spot from where he could see the Monolith on which the Captain stood …but he was gone. TG and Link had to track him down…again!

After a while they found the trail left by the Captain and while Link tried to catch up with him, TG went ahead to outflank him.

Link didn’t notice that his superior officer had a nice clear view of him.

One perfect shot and Link was knocked out.

TG was hiding behind a tree because he knew that the Captain had to come this way. What he didn’t expect was that the Captain made his way through the trees and was now behind TG!

Captain Raif: ‘That’s it, boy. You lost.’

A while later, after Link woke up, he met with TG and the Captain for a final briefing.

Captain Raif: ‘You weren’t as bad as I expected but I hope you two learned your lesson. Sometimes it isn’t the best idea to split up because that left your back open and endangered your mission.’

Link and TG nodded.

Captain Raif: ‘But you two have some potential and after some further training and  new amour, you’ll soon be ready for a new mission.’

Link and TG were delighted to hear that they would get new equipment and amour so they replied ‘Yes, Sir’ enthusiastically.

Mission Report 75-005

Target: Training Mission against Special Shadow Troop Ace

Location: A Republic Training Camp

Commander Jake: ‘O.K. Troopers. You know the course and you know the rules. The first team that can claim the 501st helmet and comes back here wins.’

Commander Jake: ‘The two teams fighting against each other this time are: Team Ace and…’

‘…Team Sting.’

Commander Jake: ‘No weapons or any other tools are allowed. Only one rope per team and your will to win is all you need.’

Commander Jake: ‘May the best Team win.’

Quickly the Shadow Troopers took the lead and went through the first challenge.

TG: ‘What takes you two so long down there?’

Link: ‘Josh is scared of heights.’ He looked down to Josh. ‘It’s just half a meter….let go and jump!’

TG: ‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’

Josh: ‘Nearly theeeeere…..’ he said and after 2 more minutes he finally reached the ground, followed by Link and TG.

The next challenge was a climbing up a giant tree, across one of the massive branches and then climb back down again. Team Ace had a little help in form of a very useful gadget.

And very quickly they went up to the top of the giant tree.

And with support from the ground, the second member quickly got to the top.

Soon they found their next quick route to get down to the ground again.

Finally the Stingers made it to the next stage of the course. Secured to each other, they started to climb.

And down the other side again.

Meanwhile Team Ace was racing through difficult terrain getting closer to the Target.

With the Stingers behind them, Team Ace reached the Target first and with the 501st helmet, raced back to the finish zone.

TG: ‘Come on guys….we can still make it!’

Link: ‘Looks like we’ve lost.’

TG: ‘Yep.’

Josh: ‘…’

Commander Jake: ‘Well, it looks like we have a winning team.’

Commander Jake: ‘Team Ace was the first team to return with the Winners Trophy…’

A happy cheer from the Team Ace.

Commander Jake: ‘But!’

Commander Jake: ‘Since Team Ace didn’t stick with the rules…Sergant TG?’

TG stepped forwards: ‘Yes Sir?’

Commander Jake: ‘If you ever intend to leave the Stingers, you will have a safe place with the 501st Legion.’

The Commander went to the Team Ace leader and took the helmet back.

Commander Jake: ‘And since Team Ace cheated, Team Stinger is the winner of this Training Competition. See you around next time.’

And with these words he left the two groups. Team Ace was still trying to convince the Commander that you have to use everything you can get on the battlefield, while the Stingers decided to go back to the Cantina to celebrate before they headed back to their base.

Mission Report 75-004 – Part II

While TG, Josh and the two ARF Troopers were closing in on the enemy, the Tactical Droid caught up with his three Commando Droids.

Tactical Droid: ‘You must eliminate these Clone Troopers at all cost.’

Commando Droid Leader: ‘Roger.’

Meanwhile: TG, Josh and the two ARF Troopers arrived a point where one their new friends had to leave.

AT-RT ARF Trooper: ‘Sorry, but I have to go back to our base. My AT-RT is almost out of power.’

TG: ‘Be careful and thanks for your help.’

The three Troopers didn’t realize that they were already surrounded by the Enemy they were hunting.

Then suddenly a deep mechanical voice called out ‘ATTACK!’

All three Commando Droids started their attack. TG, Josh and the ARF Trooper spread out to face them.

Josh’s opponent attacked from above.

The ARF Trooper dropped down to get cover and opened fire back at the Droid.

TG struggled under the attacks from the Commando Droid Leader. Those Droids are so much more agile and harder to fight against then the normal Battle Droids.

Then a shot. A little explosion and the Commando Droid who nearly managed to overcome the ARF Trooper dropped down.

A second well placed shot from somewhere and the Droid Josh was fighting, fell to the ground.

TG lost his rifle while trying not to get killed by the Commando Droid. Then….

‘Say good night, Clanker.’ came a voice over the COM in the other Trooper helmets.

One more precise shot an the last Droid was eliminated and dropped to the ground.

TG, Josh and the ARF Trooper joined their saviour.

TG: ‘You are a Commando, aren’t you?’

Josh:’You are Delta 62?! I saw you and the Delta Squad a year ago…’

Scorch: ‘Yes. I am from the Delta Squad. We were here to destroy the Separatist Base and after that we heard that you youngsters might needed some help.’

TG:’Thanks for your help, Delta 62! You really came just in time……’ he paused. ‘So the Enemy Base is destroyed?’

Scorch: ‘Yes. Your order is now to get these data crystals back to the Senat.’

TG & Josh: ‘Aye Sir.’

Scorch: ‘Follow your friend here to his base, then return to Coruscant as quick as you can. Your mission here is over.’

TG: ‘Understood.’

Scorch left the Clone Troopers after handing the Data Crystals to TG.

The group hurried back to the the Republic Base to contact their Commando and get a ship back to Coruscant as quick as possible.

Mission Report 75-004

Josh and I were back again on the planet where we freed General Kenobi 3 weeks ago. According to our Agents here, there were still Droids left and they are trying to rebuild the base.

We were scanning the region for any clues as…

Tactical Droid: ‘You won’t find our base. And you won’t tell anything you have seen here to the Republic.’

Josh and I turned around. Surprised.

TG: ‘You can bet you shiny ass that we will tell our Commander that we’ve found more of the Separatist’s scrap metal.’

Tactical Droid: ‘Ha, ha, ha. Commander! Eliminate those Clones.’

Battle Droid: ‘Roger. Roger.’

And from behind that rock came the trouble. We were outnumbered and wouldn’t stand any chance against such a fire power.

Josh looked over to me: ‘I think this won’t work out well.’

TG: ‘Doesn’t look good.’

We fired and a took the Commander Droid out then…

…we just ran. The Droid on his Stap right behind us and with heavy fire all around us.

‘GET DOWN!‘ came a familiar voice over the COM of our helmets.

And so we did and milliseconds later we heard and felt an explosion. As we looked up…

…the Stap and the Droid were no more.

We were safed by two ARF Troopers. ‘Thanks for your help, Brother.’ I said.

ARF Trooper: ‘No need. Now let’s finish them off.’

So he said and raced with his AT-RT towards the Droids.

And so we did. After a few minutes we destroyed all the Droids.

TG: ‘Looks like as if the Tactical Droid go away.’ I shrugged.

ARF Trooper: ‘Yeah, but he won’t get far.’

AT-RT ARF Trooper: ‘We’ll hunt him down before he gets to his base.’

TG: ‘We’ll help you with that.’

AT-RT ARF Trooper: ‘Right, follow Ace here, he’ll bring you to our speeder bikes.’

TG: ‘Great. Let’s go.’

So we split up to hunt this Tactical Droid down.

Mission Report continues: Day 2

Commander Tosh and Shion were still in one of the tunnels, trying to find their way to the cells where the Separatists kept General  Kenobi.

Sion:  ‘According to my scanners, we are on the right way. This tunnel should bring us to their prison section.’

Commander Tosh:  ”Then let’s keep on moving.’

As suddenly something…someone appeared behind them.

Shadow Trooper: ‘Cease your fire!’

Commander Tosh: ‘A Shadow Trooper?! We weren’t informed that there were already Troopers in this base.’

Shadow Trooper: ‘With all respect, sir…but this isn’t the right time to discuss the Republic’s Information politics. We need to regroup. Follow me.’

Sion shrugged and nodded back at the Commander.

Commander Tosh: ‘Right. Let’s go.’

Shadow Trooper: ‘This way, Sir. The Commander and the rest of your group are not far away.’

Finally both groups met and Commander Tosh got all the information the Shadow Troopers had gathered so far.

Shadow Commander: ‘We know where the General is and we should move quickly before he gets into more trouble.’

Commander Tosh: ‘Agree. Let’s free the General.’

Sion: ‘With all this firepower we have now it shouldn’t be a problem.’

TG: ‘Good to see you again, brother.’

Sion: ‘Glad to see you in one piece, TG.’

Meanwhile in the prison block.

Tactical Droid: ‘One last time. Give me the key.’

Kenobi: ‘Why should I?’

Tactical Droid: ‘ ‘We need that key to decipher the Republic Signals here in the Outer Rim. We know that you are planing to build a new Outpost and we want to know where.’

Kenobi: ‘Why should we build an Outpost here? There are far too many Pirates and Separatists here, which always means trouble.’

Tactical Droid: ‘Then it is time to eliminate you. The General has no more need for you if you won’t give us the informations we nee.’

Kenobi: ‘Well, that’s not really the kind of hospitality I know from Grievous.’

Then there were noises and a loud voice said: ‘Hold! Release the General, Clankers.’

The Droids turned around only to find themselves surrounded by a group of Clone Troopers.

Tactical Droid: ‘Shoot them.’

The Battle Droids started to move forwards.

Commander Tosh: ‘One last warning. Release the General and we’ll switch you off quickly.’

Commander Tosh: ‘That’s it….Get them!’

After a few minutes the combat was over and we could free the General…but at a high cost.

CC 7297 was dead and Commander Tosh was badly injured. The Shadow Commander checked his wounds, looked to TG and the others. We all knew what that meant.

General Kenobi joined the scene.

Kenobi: ‘Thank you for all your hard work, Commander. I’ll make sure that we’ll get the best medical care for you.’ he said softly.

Commander Tosh: ‘I won’t make it General. (cough) I did my duty and I’m proud and glad to know that you are free… (cough)…’

Kenobi: ‘We’ll get you out of here, Commander.’

A moment of silence came over the Troopers. They might be Soldiers and all of them have seen death many times, but if they looses someone who they served with for a long time, even a Clone Trooper has trouble to cope with it.

General Kenobi turned away from the scene, anger in his heart. He knew it was wrong and that there was a price that had to be paid…every battle had it’s costs.

Kenobi: ‘Commander?’

Shadow Commander: ‘Yes Sir?’

Kenobi: ‘Let’s get out of here. Contact your superiors and let them know that we are ready to go home.’

Shadow Commander: ‘Already done Sir.’

Kenobi: ‘Take your brothers and let’s go.’

General Kenobi and all the other Troopers were soon picked up by a Shuttle. They even found the rest of the Stinger group before they left the Planet. Commander Tosh died a couple of hours after they reached the Republic Fleet.

Result: Mission accomplished

———————————— END OF REPORT ——————————————–

Mission Report continues: Day 2

We entered the cave after finishing off the two Battle Droids at the entrance. Commander Tosh was in the lead while I kept our backs clear.

We came to a point where another tunnel joined the one where we were and we had to decide which way to go.

Commander Tosh: TG! You keep our backs clear while Sion and I check this tunnel.

TG: Yes Sir.

The Commander and Sion disappeared into the tunnel while I stayed at the corner keeping an eye on things.

As suddenly. . .

Noises. It sounded like metal…

I activated my COM to warn the Commander then charged forwards to buy them some time.

As the Commander and Sion came back to the spot where we split up before…TG was gone.

Commander Tosh: Looks like we’re too late.

Sion: Aye.

Commander Tosh: Let’s keep on going. We MUST find General Kenobi!

Sion: What about TG? We can’t just leave him behind.

Commander Tosh: And we won’t. I bet that he won’t be far away from the spot where they keep the General.

I didn’t get away from the Droids but instead of killing me, they captured me and brought me deeper into their base. I wondered what kind of information they thought to get out of me.

They brought me into a cell where they already kept another prisoner.

Droid: Don’t get any funny ideas, Troopers. You won’t get out of this cell, at least not alive.

After the Droids left I wanted to know with whom I was sharing my new cell and what information he might have.

TG: Who are you?

Trooper: I’m CC 7297. I was together with General Kenobi as we got captured.

TG: I’m TG. I’m sure we’ll get out of here Commander. My friends will free the General and then us.

We had to stop our conversation as another Droid entered our cell.

TG: I won’t tell you anything. No matter how hard you try I won’t give you any information.

Droid: Of course you won’t. That’s why you are part of the Stingers, CT 8769.

The Droid answered with it’s mechanical voice. I was shocked. How could it be that they knew who I was? What sort of trap was this?

TG: How….?

And in seconds the Droid changed into one of us! He was a Shadow Trooper! One of the highly trained special forces.

Shadow Trooper:  We’ve had this base under surveillance for weeks and know that General Kenobi was captured.  Let’s get you out of here and then we’ll get the rest of your Troop TG. That should be enough to free the General and get out of here.

TG: Thanks for your help.

Shadow Trooper: No problem, Sergeant. The more help we get, the easier this mission will be.

I was relieved to get out of the cell so quickly but what was with the rest of the Stingers?

TG: Do you know where the rest of my group is?

Shadow Trooper: Of course.

CC 7297: Well, we won’t be of much help without any weapons.

TG: Indeed.

Another voice came from behind us: ‘Oh, that’s not a problem.’

TG: What? You are a Covert Ops Trooper!

Covert Ops Trooper: Yes I am. Like the Commander said, we have been here for weeks. Here is your weapon.

TG: The Commander?

I turned to the Shadow Trooper to apologise.

TG: Sorry, Sir. I didn’t mean to be dis-respectful.

Shadow Trooper: Never mind, Trooper. Let’s get out of here and free the General. MOVE!

Covert Ops Trooper, TG, CC 7297: Yes, Sir!
